Student Experience

After our 2023 event, we surveyed 111 students who attended the event to learn more about their event experience including likes, dislikes, and future career aspirations. You can learn more about their experiences below and use their feedback to better prepare for future events in Seguin! All quotes are written anonymously to protect identifiable student information. 

Positive Experiences: 

• "I liked how there was a place where it showed you what was inside of the computer and where we coded a robot."

• " I liked how they explained things and got into detail about it."

• "What I liked about the career expo was that there was so many people that talked about there jobs and that jobs that they do are cool and interesting."

• "I really liked how interactive it was I got to learn about a lot of different jobs."

• " The outdoor demonstrations were awesome.  All displays/stations inside were well organized and presenters were very informative."

Areas for Improvement:

• "Some people only gave prizes if you asked a question or they talked a lot or didn't talk a lot."

• "One thing I disliked was not being able to explore everything."

• "There were almost no small businesses there."

• " At the Seguin Youth Career Expo I disliked that some of the booths didn't really talk about what they did."

Future Career Aspirations:

• " I am interested in robotics."

• " I kind of have an idea of what I want to do when I am older. I would really like to go into the medical field. My second option would be a fire fighter."

• "Yes, I think I might join the mathematical field for jobs."

• " Yes I would like to be a veterinarian. I've wanted to be a veterinarian since I was in 5th grade and still want to be it."
