The Seguin Youth Career Expo is an interactive and dynamic experience that facilitates a connection between 8th grade students, their Career & Technical Education (CTE) pathways & local companies.
During the Seguin Youth Career Expo, local employers across all industries will gather at the Seguin Coliseum to showcase their company's operations through a hands-on experience. The Expo shows eighth grade students the amazing diversity of career opportunities in our city, as well as the skills and education needed to pursue those jobs. Companies are encouraged to bring equipment, products, videos, uniforms, etc. to create an interactive student experience that will highlight the company's career pathways as well as the educational attainment and skill sets that are required for success in that company's industry.
This event encourages students to explore their interests while providing them the opportunity to learn how they can apply those interests to future professional endeavors. The short-term goal is to inspire before they choose their CTE pathway in high school. The long-term goal is to connect employers to their future workforce and help students make informed, inspired decisions about their careers after high school, whether they choose a four-year university, community college or apprenticeship training center.
*Please note that this annual event is usually held in January; however, to better accommodate the student school year calendar, it will now be hosted in November.
